Travel & Stay 🏨
The Altar Electric is about 20 minutes from Melbourne's CBD. If you are travelling we recommend booking accomodation in Collingwood, Abbotsford or the CBD.
Quest Collingwood, Veriu Collingwood, lyf Collingwood and the MainStay Suites Abbotsford are all located nearby or any of the avaliable options in the city.
Parking is available nearby at Victoria Park on the day if required.
Public transport from the CBD is accessible or a short walk or Uber from the local stays.
Food and Drink 🥂
Food and drinks are fully catered. Canapes and mains. Please provide dietary requirements with your RSVP.
The bar will be serving beer, wine, prosecco, StrangeLove sodas and other non-alcoholic options.
And obviously wedding cake!
Dress Code 🤵🏻
We welcome bright colours, comfortable shoes, anything that sparkles and most of all what makes you feel special. The venue is a neon-lit vegas inspired wedding chapel that beckons disco vibes, dancing and bold decisions.

As per your invitations - we kindly appreciate your RSVP as soon as possible to assist with our planning for the day.
Kids 👶🏻
Kids are welcome and invited. If they need a break at any point, please feel free to step outside and take the time that you need so that all guests can enjoy the ceremony and celebration comfortably.
Photo Policy 📸
No phones during the ceremony please. We have a professional photographer to capture this moment and many hours following to take all the photos with our guests.
Gifts 🎁
Gifts of any kind are absolutely optional, your presence, especially if you're travelling to be with us is what we value most. If you choose to give anything, it is very warmly appreciated.

If you're travelling to be with us and need some other plans while you're in Melbourne. We recommend checking out:
The National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Botanical Gardens, Brunetti Oro, A show at the Theatre, shopping at Melbourne Central or any of the fantastic cafes, restaurants and bars within the CBD, Fitzroy, Collingwood and Abbotsford.
The Morning After 🧺
If family and friends would like to spend more time with us before departing we will be planning an informal picnic on Sunday the 18th at the Fitzroy Gardens. Details to be confirmed.
A final note from the Grooms 💕
It's been a long road to get here! Douglas proposed to Rod a few months after Marriage Equality became legal in Australia and since then we have moved home twice, survived a global pandemic, explored a few more corners of the world together, purchased our own home and of course, adopted our beautiful dog Loaf.
We appreciate that being from Canberra and having our Wedding in Melbourne doesn't make the most sense, but with our families, friends and loved ones spread through every corner of Australia and beyond, no matter where the wedding was we would be asking people to travel to join us.
We hope that no matter where you’re from, you will be able to join us to be a part of this special day and all the beautiful memories it will create.
